Solihull Council is continuing its public consultation with local people and businesses to develop plans for the regeneration of Kingshurst village centre.

At the beginning of the year the local community, businesses and other stakeholders were asked their views on the future of Kingshurst village centre. The most popular option was to demolish the Parade and replace the buildings with modern shops, community buildings and new houses.

Based on this feedback a draft masterplan has been produced that proposes new shops, medical and community facilities to the north of the park.

To find out more about these new proposals there are a couple of drop-in sessions at Kingshurst Library on the following dates:

7^th September 2017 from 2pm until 6pm

15^th September 2017 from 2pm until 5pm

Councillor Ian Courts, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Managed Growth, said:

“The Kingshurst Draft Masterplan contains some exciting proposals. We now need to hear what local people think about them. Nothing is set in stone and we may not be able to deliver some of the masterplan aspirations, but it is important that local people and businesses help us create a vison for the new Kingshurst.

“Following the successful schemes at Chelmund’s Cross and Smith’s Wood, I am confident if we can work with the local community and businesses, we can create a vibrant commercial centre, with public facilities that meet local peoples’ needs and improve the local area for everyone.”
