The North Solihull Partnership is advising local people that Solihull Council is consulting on its proposal to dispose of a remaining 0.5 hectare area of land that had been used as a sports pitch at the former Bishop Wilson Church of England primary school site.
Following the completion of the brand new award winning £10 million Bishop Wilson primary school and the school's subsequent relocation to its new building; the old site is undergoing a transformation, bringing much needed new homes to this area of Chelmsley Wood and opening up access to public openspace and the River Cole.
The site is designated for 140 homes in the Local Plan, adopted in December 2013. The income from the sale of this remaining area of the Bishop Wilson site will go towards developing brand new sports facilities in other schools in the area. Solihull Council is undertaking the consultation under Section 77 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 and Schedule 1 to the Academies Act 2010. The consultation will run from 23 June 2014 until 4 August 2014.
