Solihull Community Housing hosted a special ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of the £7million extra care living scheme, Saxon Court.

The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Flo Nash, said: “Providing supportive accommodation that meets the needs of older people is a priority for all local authorities. Saxon Court is exactly the type of facility we need and I hope the residents enjoy living there.”

The quality apartments each have their own kitchen and wet room, while the extensive open plan ground floor is designed to encourage communal living. A wellbeing co-ordinator will promote a range of activities designed to forge a thriving Saxon Court community.

Residents will also be able to enjoy a wide range of facilities, including, a resident lounge, hair salon, beauty room, hobby room and garden access.
