A new development of specialised apartments for over 55s which is part of the regeneration of North Solihull has been officially opened.
Bellway Homes and WM Housing have worked together as part of the North Solihull Partnership to create Fillingham Court, a development of 40 one and two-bedroom apartments which have been specifically designed to cater for the needs of over 55s. The development has been built on a former residential site off Fillingham Close.
The new apartments all feature flexible living space, including space suitable to store wheelchairs and mobility scooters, separate living and dining rooms, and ample storage facilities. All of the apartments also include balconies.
Fillingham Court features a communal space for residents to socialise in and for activities to take place in.
Sales and Marketing Director for Bellway’s West Midlands division, Stephen Rose, said: “It was fantastic to see the apartments at Fillingham Court officially launched, and we’re proud to have played a part in the construction of the development. “We’ve been a part of the North Solihull Partnership for 10 years now, and since then the area has changed dramatically. Fillingham Court is the latest example of how the partnership has created quality new homes which cater for the needs of the local community. “We’re delighted with the finished product, and hope the new residents enjoy living at the site.”
Denise Shuker, Executive Director at WM Housing Group said: “We’re delighted to celebrate the continuing regeneration of North Solihull alongside our development partner Bellway. Fillingham Court has proved popular with people looking for high quality affordable homes in the area. Bellway have done a fantastic job delivering our project on time and on budget.”
Bellway is the commercial housing partner in the North Solihull Partnership, the group which has spearheaded the regeneration of the area, and has built hundreds of private and social homes since work began in 2005.
