Chelmund’s Cross Health Centre

Health Centre at Chelmund's Cross build phase from the front

Work on the new £3m Chelmund’s Cross Health Centre is well underway.

The health centre will be the new location for the existing Chelmund’s Cross GP surgery, alongside a brand new pharmacy and home to the local dentist’s surgery.  The dentist’s old building will be demolished to make way for the last element of the village centre which is hoped to be an assisted living/residential scheme.

Work began in January 2015 following clearance of the site with a completion date of the end of 2015.

The new centre marks the latest part of the redevelopment of the Chelmund’s Cross Village Centre.  This follows improvements in the area’s public realm and roads, alongside the construction of the Enterprise Centre which has already brought a number of new businesses to the area.

The Secretary of State for Health, the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, recently visited the Village Centre to see the work that had already been carried out.  Representatives of the new doctors’ surgery, the dentist and the pharmacy joined local residents and councillors on the site for photos and a brief tour of the site.
