New Housing Developments

Since the first new housing development began in 2006, we have demolished 888 homes, including 5 tower blocks, which had become unsustainable. Over 1,600 new homes have now been built over 36 different sites by Bellway Homes, introducing choice into the housing market. Around half of the homes that are being built are for social rent and a large proportion of the remainder are available for low cost home ownership through equity share arrangements. Bellway are currently offering ‘Help to Buy’ 20% Equity Loan on all their open market sale homes.

There are currently a number of new developments under way.  Click the images and links below for more information.

Demolition of Old Shopping Precinct at Arran Way

Demolition of the old shops and gym at Arran Way took place in April 2018.

Bellway Homes have now started to build 51 homes on the site, which will be called Alderbrook.  These homes will consist of 21 affordable and 30 private 2 and 3 bedroom dwellings.  There will be 39 houses and 12 apartments with associated parking and landscaping.

This development was the subject of extensive public consultation in September 2014 and planning approval was granted in March 2015.

Lake View is a development of 52 dwellings within the River Cole valley just off Cooks Lane in Kingshurst.  The development will also include balancing ponds, a wet land feature, natural play, landscaping and ecological enhancements.

Bellway Homes have completed work on diversionary footpaths across the retained open space in Lark Meadow.  Works to construct a permanent access road off Cooks Lane will commence once the footpaths are in use and existing underground services have been diverted on Cooks Lane.
